Exactly did you not read my post? I was surprised it made it out, and they were not able to keep it under wraps Your quote says if it was PB it would be front page news! Yeah and calling for Nesmith and everybodys head in the program!

Your quote says if it was PB it would be front page news! Yeah and calling for Nesmith and everybodys head in the program! Are you really bringing race into this? A lot of assumptions being made on your part, before all the facts are out. Swept under the carpet? My understanding is the action occurred Wednesday, and it’s national news the very next day. Not going to be swept under the carpet, this is MOCO someone will be held responsible.

There seems to be more than a few people on here quick to say it's an isolated incident. Are you sure? If it was only 3 kids why forfeit? What if I told you that I have text from a player/ student that says " its this thing we do called the stick" ? The police statement doesn't make it seem like just one incident or do we just not pay attention to that? I won't mention the other situation because I pray to God that's not true. Nobody has liked or responded to this post lol.

The best thing anyone can do right now is let the MCPD do their job. Speculating on who knew what and starting rumors and allegations doesn't do anyone any good. This isn't about football, this is about CHILDREN whose lives have been forever altered. The facts will eventually come out and those responsible will have to answer for them. Can we just leave it at that?

I agree as well. Lets be honest if this was at university the head coach would be placed on leave. And if it did occur in the locker room then it is on the coaches/adults because they should be supervise in that locker room. Both JV and Varsity should be held accountable because there is no way the entire varsity team didn't know about this. The big question is if varsity players did know about this how will the county/school proceed with handling this? Varsity didn’t know. They don’t care what jv does. They are worried about doing their job. It’s sad that some idiot transfer could come in and ruin everything we have all in the community built. For everyone to think dmass is like everyone else and they go get transfers etc. no one that has grew up in system likes it when new guys come in and don’t know how to be a part of something bigger then themselves. The decision this kid made is on him. He was selfish and it would be a shame to see the whole community go down for something an outsider did. Someone that didn’t go through the grind that the rest of us did ruins it. That’s the shame. The win streak isn’t the only streak that’s up for stakes. The playoff streak might be just as impressive. And that streak isn’t something these kids built they kept it going like we all did. An outsider? The grind? And ruined what? Lol this is crazy. The community are not victims of this foolishness, those kids that were being mistreated are smh

I'm not bringing race into anything, I said in my initial post had it been PB or any down county school they would have been calling for everyones head. I used Nesmith as an example of "everyone in the program" and I used PB and Nesmith because I was quoting a PB supporter/fan. Had I used a white head coach as an example from down county maybe you wouldn't be asking me this....hope this clears up your question.

MCPS should be held accountable for transferring violent kids from school to school! This is getting crazy smh...the accused students were they known to be "violent kid" before they transferred in? Is MCPS transferring violent kids from school to school? If so we have a major problem in Moco.

Sickening and sad. The culture at Damascus needs to change, now. Although I am in awe of their successes, I've been continually unimpressed by their sportsmanship, not just in football, but in every sport. It isn't just the kids. Where were the adults? I hope the MCPS "Regents" do a better job than UMD's. Sickening and sad.

Guess Dmass really only cared about that streak and nothing else.

This is a tragic incident that happened at Damascus. Sickening allegations. What’s just as bad is getting on here and seeing how random people around the county are just assuming things cause it’s what they remember. Well I a player in those locker rooms not too long ago. I will say this those of you that think the varsity team cares about what jv does in the locker room are besides themselves. The only times both teams are there is during preseason 2 days. As for the where are the coaches during this? You’re telling me you want the coaches in there watching them change?? Uhm no that would cause us more problems. The fact is something terrible happened when the kids are supposed to be responsible and ready for me practice or study hall. No one asks about the people who raise these idiots just want to blame the adults who give their everything for these kids. It’s a sad sitauation but just like media sucks everyone on here is just as bad. There will be consequences for the program as there should be. But for everyone to think this type of hazing happens often and is accepted and washed under at Damascus is super mistaken. When will it be the kids fault those 3 kids should be expelled from moco and then we move on. All the details will come out in the investigation we will see if it is truly as terrible as the allegations. My heart goes out to the rest of the Damascus community as we figure out how to overcome this horrible incident. I don’t like calling individuals out, but you’re little quip about coaches being in the locker room really speaks to the person you are. When I say coaches in the lockerroom, I mean when students begin to file out of the lockeroom, that a coach is present to make sure everyone is out. A coach is similar to teaching, in that you are required to be supervising a group large or small. To your other point, yes I am making a guess that this wasn’t isolated but it’s an educated guess. It is more likely that incidents occurred, and they escalated in severity....rather than this being a scenario where it goes from 0-100. Kids aren’t going to try that unless there’s a culture established where they can get away with plenty. Yes, parents need to be better. But in this case, the adults watching the kids on school grounds need to be better. They didn’t do their job, plain and simple. I ask you to take a look in the mirror, and remove the name Damascus from this situation. You’re trying to minimalize the severity because you like Damascus, and that’s just not right. Anyone who allows hazing to be fostered in an athletic program should be removed. I’m not sure why you’re attacking the media either.

Anybody who says they are sure of anything was either there or is displaying a lack of solid judgement when the story has yet to be put out by a reliable source. Lots of people are saying lots of things. If you told me some story about “the stick,” I would put it with all the others until I have something reliable to put it with.

I hope the MCPS "Regents" do a better job than UMD's. Sickening and sad. Agreed but once again. Why is it the adults fault that kid do this horrible thing. So you want to coach to stand at locker room door and wait. Ok 2 weeks later kid goes home “ mommy coach was looking at me weird when I was changing”. That is not what we want. The fault is on the 3 kids involved 2 holding down 1 with alleged stick. It’s not the coaches fault. They trust in their team to do what they are supposed to do. When a kid makes a mistake they are punished to learn their lesson. If invenstigation come out that it’s happened multiple times and everyone knew I will be appauled. As for now the kids are at fault they have to be held accountable for their choice. The adults were not the ones doing this absurd thing. Never said standing there!!! Coaches need to make sure the locker room is cleared out before going to practice. Also do a quick sweep through the locker room make sure the players are not doing anything they arnt suppose to do (vape, broomsticks, etc...) This is on the adults as much as it is on the players. Parents should feel safe letting their kids play football under the care of a coach and that trust was broken. I understand your a Dmass fan and you will defend them to the day you die. But an adult will be held accountable for this and it will fall hard on the head coach of varsity who oversees every coach and player.
