This is a unique situation, and while we can speculate there are questions that need to be answered
The biggest is...WHERE were the adults? For this to happen multiple times, and for no adult to see it...it just seems really fishy. I’m not saying that they saw and did nothing, but at the very least it will likely be termination of most of, if not all of the JV staff.
How long has this behavior been going on? Is it just these kids on this team? Is it kids who are now on varsity? Who will be held responsible? The details seem graphic. I don’t see how you can just jump to this behavior either. It started with something else, and continued to get darker.
The job of every staff member guest and foremost is to protect those who they’re around. Whoever is on the JV staff failed massively. I have to wonder how something so awful could have happened, and not a single adult knew. Any adult who had knowledge of hazing should be relieved of their duties. One final note, this specific act goes way beyond hazing. It’s disappointing that a program like this would allow this to happen. Those poor kids.

Good lord... Not only are the alleged actions inexcusable, but coming at a time when there is a national spotlight on the school this could get big. Unreal.

Ugh. I hate when football of all things puts me in a sour mood, and this happening right at the same time as the UMD fracas is an unprecedented level of bad. Hoping the people in charge can handle this effectively and the mood will be set aside once teams take the field tomorrow night.

This involves more than hazing. There are allegations of sexual assault. You are going to have to use your imagination about what is being alleged.

If true, this stuff is absolutely apalling. Hazing culture doesn't just decide to start one day with a broomstick. I would be surprised if this is some random isolated incident. I'm glad someone came forward. If I saw one of my teammates trying to pull that crap on another on anyone, hands would be thrown. So wrong on so many levels, and it s the complete antithesis of what it means to be on a team. Hope this investigation holds everyone accountable.

I call bulls*** on the varsity team not knowing. They share the same locker room and someone had to hear about it or knew. That whole program should be investigated now...
