Would have been great to see the additional yards if there was a 2020 season. Wondering what the totals would have been then. Carson Sickeri and Xander McClure as Seniors... What could have been? Would have loved to see that. Two great players racking up yards and breaking records.

After week 3 of the 2023 season, the unofficial career rushing yards for Linganore RB Ethan Arneson are up to 4,238. That's good enough for #5 all-time in FCPS history, and #31 in MPSSAA history. Still at only 3rd place in school history, Arneson needs 67 rushing yards to surpass John Seymour for second place at LHS; and he needs 126 rushing yards to break Matt Castor's school record of 4,363 career rushing yards.

Pretty sure Duane Mussleman was the feature back that season. But Seymour played the maximum number of postseason games his junior and senior years (fall 91 & fall 92), making back to back trips to Byrd. Considering the 2022 postseason got cut short for LHS, and considering we are only three games in to the current season, I would think Seymour and Arneson are both currently close to the same number of career varsity games at this point in time. It would be interesting to compare their yards per carry if that data were out there, but I have not seen stats on number of carries from back in the day.

I watched Seymour and company play JV (1990) against Walkersville. The Lions forfeited the second half, for safety concerns, after getting crushed, literally, the first half. I also recall a late season game against Frederick, (E. Snowden / Ambush etc.) that was to get in the playoffs. I don't recall Seymour playing in that game either. It was great game between the leading rushers in Fredco.

It's all about the old line. Can't run through holes unless somebody makes them. I think if arneson averages approximately 181 yd for seven more games he would be the top Frederick County Runner

I just saw in the FNP that Arneson had 239 yards bringing him unofficially to 4477 career yards and making him #3 all time Frederick career rusher and #1 for Linganore.

Looking at the list of statewide career rushing leaders, Arneson has now surpassed notable names like Steve Suter, Zach Welch, Bryan Blessing, Chad Bradley, John Seymour, Josh Keeney, and Matt Castor. Going forward, some other notable names he has a reasonable chance of catching include Jake Funk, Tyree Foreman, Marquez Cooper, Olandis Gary, and Ray Gray.

Themamba. If LINGANORE plays 5 more games, makes it to the states and Arneson averages 200 ypg, where will he be on the All time career rushing record? Tks in advance.
