It was a pleasure to watch him wrestle this weekend. In a field, full of athletic and strong, heavyweights. He certainly stood out.

Carter also won a state championship in the shot put in indoor track a few weeks ago. He had to have a PR throw to win it, and he came through. While he is physically tough and is strong academically, he is also mentally focused when it comes time to perform. Congrats!

I am looking forward to seeing what he does at the next level.

Carter is going to win the Times-News POY too. Jabril and Patterson are going to be co-offensive POY's

Since the practicing rule is that a player cannot be voted to win more than one of the categories, it opens it up to other players to get some acknowledgemt.
Since Hess did not win the Lineman of the Year as he will get the POY, the lineman award should have went to VanMeter of FH. Congrats to the Mtn. Ridge's player who won as I am a fan of the small underdog player (I was an undersized linemen), but VanMeter was a dominate area two way lineman. It is likely that the award winner would not have even started on either side of the ball if he was at FH and would have not seen any action on defense until games were out of reach.
