There may be as many as seven MD kids drafted in the first two rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Caleb Williams - Bowie/ Gonzaga Projected 1st pick
Olu Fashanu - Waldorf/ Gonzaga Top 5 pick
Chop Robinson - Gaithersburg/ QO 1st-2nd
Chris Braswell - Baltimore/ SFA 2nd-3rd
Kris Jenkins - Olney/ Good Counsel 2nd-3rd
Christian Haynes - Bowie/ Bowie 2nd-3rd
Caelen Carson - Waldorf/ North Point 2nd-3rd
This, following the 2023 NFL Draft, where three Maryland kids were drafted in the first round.
Earlier this afternoon, Curtis Jacobs (Glen Burnie/ McDonogh), a longtime family friend, declared for the draft. āLil Curtāsā stock has fallen since some earlier mocks had him in the first round, but he could be a second day pick. Great instincts, and a sure tackler.
This list also doesnāt include Blake Corum, who played at St Frances and Pallotti, but is from Warrenton, Virginia, and who could be a second day pick.

Another local entry in the draft is AJ Woods, 2019 NW grad who played DB at Pitt. Currently hovering around Day 3/UDFA status but we'll see if he can raise his stock in workouts.

Weāre a small state. Weāre never going to be a CA, TX, or FL and weāre not trying to be (my opinion). However, those stats show us punching well above our weight. And in my opinion as long as we out-do VA thatās all I care about. Having lived in the 757, they have nothing but BS to say about us.

The MPSSAA, alone, had three first rounders this Spring. This yearās draft will continue a trend thatās been building in the NFL Draft over the last quarter of a century. On a bad day, and just four of the seven mentioned above were drafted in the first two rounds, the state would be carrying more than four times its weight (7.8% of top 64 picks v 1.9% US pop.). On its best day, it appears, the āFree Stateā could be carrying six, seven times its weight. Few, if any state with more than two million people can say that. And few, maybe one, two, and three at most, could even match eight or nine players among the top 64, regardless of size.

That's the highest ranking for any school not in the south. playfootball.nfl.com/discover/news-and-features/high-schools-with-the-most-nfl-players-on-2023-kickoff-weekend-rosters/#:~:text=Georgia%2C%20with%20one%20NFL%20player,player%20per%20195%2C315%20U.S.%20residents.

What was already a great and very hyped game has become all the more legendary now that two NFL first round picks have come from it. Including Bresee & Chop, by my count there were at least 18 players on the field who were recruited to play Division I football. The game lived up to its talent level as well as it was one of the greatest slugfests I've ever seen in person - the winning touchdown came with 3 minutes left in the game after a long 7-7 deadlock.

List of drafted players who graduated from MCPS schools (there could be more - please let me know if anyone is missing): *Note - there are plenty of examples of undrafted players, some of whom went on to outstanding NFL careers. *I also did not include players who started their careers at an MCPS school before transferring to a private school and then getting drafted.
