I've seen Northern a couple times and they have a very nice passing game. But I wonder if it will be good should the temperature drop to near freezing before it's all said and done.....

If they are anything like their State Championship Team that beat Linganore their passing will be great. I hadn’t seen a passing team that good since Arundels Billy cosh and Alex Lemon lost to 2009 Linganore team.

The QB of that Northern team that beat Linganore is one of several very good QB sons of hall of fame coach Steve Crounse of Patuxent. Two of the sons played for dad at Patuxent before coach went to Northern and briefly to Dematha where his son also briefly attended before son went to Northern and coach returned to Patuxent. Oh and yes I recall Air Arundel and Cosh/Lemon very well.

Randall and Halbert do present a problem in the passing game for sure, but the better defensive units held the Pats to two touchdowns or less in three of their last four regular season games. That’s a bit concerning. I did tell Coach Holzer I thought they had the toughest final three game stretch in the MPSSAA this season, with Patuxent, Calvert, and Huntingtown, back-to-back-to-back to close the season. Those three finished 23-4, collectively, and 20-1 versus those outside themselves, with the only loss being Calvert’s to North Point. I think this game should be competitive.
