I disagree with using the psychological effects on female athletes, "Kristen Dieffenbach, the director at the Center for Applied Coaching and Sport Science at West Virginia University. And for young girls in those very high-performance settings, that can be a lot to carry unless someone is helping manage that.” as an argumentative point for male athletes.
I get it young men have feelings too, but the psychological effects are different and guys tend to deal with "tough love" different than girls.
Mental health is important at every level of sports a coach telling his player not to celebrate so he doesn't penalize his team is a learning point, nothing that coach Parrish said to his student athlete needed a whole article about mental health, it was a simple don't do that again and he got it across to him in a well spoken way.
Everyone is soft now a days, you don't see male Olympians spending years on years of time preparing for the biggest moment of their life to back out the day before an event because of lack of confidence or mental health problems.
