I don't know anything at all about RB beyond what's on MaxPreps. ...but should anyone be impressed (at all) if a private school, that can recruit any kid they want, beats a 1A public school that's basically stuck with whatever talent they can develop locally? Big deal if that happens. I won't be surprised if it doesn't though.

Nah mdhsfbfan, private schools can recruit, like they recruit - accept application to nearly all of their students (classes) BUT they did not get ANY kid they want. If that were the case, the NFL 2024 1st draft pick would have been at DeMatha, Good Counsel, Saint John's, Spalding, and other privates in addition to Gonzaga at the same time. Moreover, small programs like Fort Hill and Dunbar are not your typical small public school programs who are just stuck with whatever talent they can develop locally. Both are known to secure the better talents near and far, just like the vast majority of other winning MD programs. Regarding Riverdale Baptist taking Fort Hill this fall, it will be, pardon the pun, a Up Hill battle for Riverdale in a lurker's assessment even with the reported influx of stellar talent at Riverdale as it takes time to mesh and fine tune such things while Fort Hill is a well tuned time tested engine. I know Fort Hill to be a very savvy scheduler to not easily take on more than it can chew affording title contenders to have to beat Fort Hill at Greenway or The Ship. A lurker just does not see either extremes between Fort Hill and Riverdale Baptist. That is, it's BS of those who say Riverdale will not stand a chance beating Fort Hill at Greenway and the opposite of Riverdale has assembled an unstoppable pool of talent over a last season 6 and 4 team that lost to the likes of Bishop Mc, PVI, and Friendship Collegiate.

Rock Creek Christian Academy recently shut down. Many of the players at Rock Creek Christian have transferred to Riverdale Baptist, and RB has picked up a number of other transfers for the upcoming season as well. A number of reclassified players on the roster as well.

It can happen. They got beat in 2019 by Cathedral Prep. It just isn't going to happen against RB. They pick their schedule very carefully. They aren't playing too many tough opponents, lol. The Perryville game was a couple of years before the title run began Yes, the Perryville game was a couple years before the Fort Hill titles run. But isn't it true that there was no Fort Hill title run before, during, and after Perryville because Dunbar did the 1A running and the Fort ran absent the presence of the Poets in 1A? Just asking / sayin'.... This is true. Fort Hill has a real complex about Dunbar because they never beat them in 1A. They didn't start winning titles until Dunbar went to 2A. The 2017 loss to Dunbar in the title game really hurt. The old FH Coach Appel played an extremely soft schedule, but the new coach Alkire is playing much better teams. The Week 2 game against Dunbar in Baltimore is going to be huge.

To a lurker, every time Fort Hill lost to Dunbar it really hurt the Sentinels but Cumberland hometown rival Alco seemed to really enjoy each and every time Dunbar beat Fort Hill. Heck, I thought there was going to be a mass Jim Jones type kool-aid suicide incident by Fort Hill after that Tavon Austin two-point title game conversion circa 2008. But I feel Fort Hill may mentally feel whole after all its Dunbar let downs should they take Dunbar this fall. Yet I feel Fort Hill had the best shot ever of downing Dunbar last season with its senior line and prolific junior RB who blew up The Ship in the title game last season.
