With new coaches solidified, what schools take a step forward next year? Any that take a step back.
I see stepping up: Northwest Blair Springbrook Clarksburg
In time I see Howell booting Einstein and battling with Blair for DCC superiority
Stepping back Einstein BCC Rockville

No reasoning to this - put this up in Late August after scrimmages

And what makes you think that Einstein, BCC and Rockville would "step back" ? Just because they have new coaching staffs coming in ? No insight to their rosters or anything to base this off ? Northwest will remain a top 2 team in the county as they have been in the past. They return a good amount of the roster and also are pulling several big name transfers.

Great question: just my perspective, could end up being totally wrong. I like clarksburg and Springbrook to step up yes because of Cburg coaching change and both seem to have some talent returning. I liked how springbrook finished with good stuff coming back and the coaches coming back. For those schools stepping back. One each of those school has new unproven coaches. Second all of those schools graduated a good amount of solid seniors. New staffs have a lot to prove that they can be successfull, none have proven to be at the varsity level.

Totally opinion! Again I agree from other comment above you can’t say new coaches cant get it done ! You also left out many other schools ! Weather better or worst ? Respect your thread but totally off ! I’ll revisit this later in season lol also NFL you have more info at your hands - rosters - adds - etc of course you can predict - high school much different !

Totally agree, the thought experiment here was if I said for example Rockville may have a down year. We have someone who knows Rockville say hey x player returns and the coach did y. Then if i say for example springbrook is going to do good, again someone who knows the program and can confirm by giving info, seeing off season numbers any transfers etc.

I don't think much will differ from this past season. QO and NW will compete for a state championship, followed by 1 or 2 other teams who will make a light run maybe to the semis. I am curious to see how Blake will follow up last season after losing several kids to transfer.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Blake made it to the semi finals again next year, but I jdon’t see them winning state. They play a very easy schedule in a weak division so they will be at the top of 4A/3A in points. However, North Point exposed how to beat them. Stack the box to stop the run and play man coverage with inside leverage to force Matson to beat you throwing over the top. Then come out in balanced looks on offense and run away from where they stack their best lineman. That strategy is only going to get exploited more as Blake only returns 2 out of their 9 starters on the offensive and defensive lines as well as losing Seaton

I don’t see Whitman, Einstein or even springbrook giving them much bump. I don’t think they go undefeated in the regular season though, a lot of starters graduating.

I haven’t heard of nobody else transferring but I might be mistaken

Blake will be fine. 9-0 is still a possibility, but so is losing to Sherwood or Paint Branch in the regular season. The region isn't too challenging, so state quarterfinals is probably the floor for Blake's finish in 2024. After that it will depend on the match up after the re-seed.

Way too early is right ! No reasoning to this - put this up in Late August after scrimmages So should we only make predictions on the NFL season until after the NFL preseason has been completed? thats a terrible comparison even then you cant even really make any real solid nfl predictions until after the nfl draft which is a month away. can we at least get to some spring 7 on 7s at least even then those dont really tell you much

I will again point to what I said previously with the early thought experiment. Get people talking about returners, new staff strengths, off season numbers, players coming up from successful JV programs, players lost to graduation and transfers, ETC.
