1A - Fort Hill and Mountain Ridge meet for the third straight year for the 1A Championship. Consensus is that this is the weakest Miners squad of the three, while this is the best of the Fort Hill teams. They met back in October and the Sentinels won by 20 despite losing four fumbles. The key being that FH held the Miners to 44 yards total offense. MR QB Will Patterson would give any team problems, but he alone won't be enough. Fort Hill has a big advantage with team speed and that will help carry them to another title. Fort Hill 31-17 2/1A - The best athletes in Baltimore go to St. Francis. The best of the rest go to Dunbar. Hard for smaller schools to compete with all that talent. Dunbar 33-23 2A - Decatur v Huntingtown. Former FH head coach Todd Appel is an assistant at Decatur. So not knowing much about either school this is a sentimental pick. Decatur 28-27 3A - Oakdale v Linganore. Another all county matchup. Can Linganore play the ball control game that was the key for Fort Hill's wins over the Bears? Linganore 28-24 4/3A - North Point v Mervo. Two more I know little about. So the name I pull out of the hat is.....North Point 28-12 4A - Wise v Broadneck. All signs point to Wise....Broadneck 27-26  Appel at Decatur explains there raise.. Heâs not the HC and they donât run any of the stuff he ran at FH. But sure, itâs definitely Appel and not the D1 (Vandy commit) QB/WR propelling them.

Yes, it should be noted that MMA amassed 494 yards of offense, 220+ more yards of offense than the Seahawks. While I wonât say MMA gave away the game, they probably feel that way after three special teams blunders cost them. The punt snap that was recovered in the end zone, the blocked punt in their own territory, and the blocked extra point.

Yeah, that program has been on an upward trajectory since Coach Coleman originally joined the staff in 2019. Appel didn't come aboard until last season, and was assisting at Snow Hill the two years prior. With that said, Appel has done a very nice job with the defense. This year especially, where they seem to have improved on that side of the ball despite having less size in the front 7 than they did a year ago, and losing a D1 DE/LB to graduation.

Come on tube, a one-of-a-kind high school football player is quite rare. Be realistic that there are tons upon tons of equally talented players every where to fill 80 or so FBS slots and all the silly banter that UMD is missing out big time not getting players from Maryland is pure crap. So many in here say UMD does not actively or aggressively seek out MD top talents, usually their own favorite high school talent. I'd venture to speculate that many of these Maryland "divas" -- and many are -- sit back waiting on being sought and don't put forth good diligent efforts to be aggresively sought other than having their film out in the ether to be amazed over. I'll say many even don't approach UMD or attend its camps or do anything extra to get themselves of interest like players from other areas do. I was at UMD's spring game earlier this year and talked to two kids (teammates) and their coach and parents who came up from down south from a school called Mill Creek supposedly a good national or national ranked team. I was sitting there when somone from UMD gave them passes to attend an after game UMD family cookout. Now I recognized several Maryland high school football coaches at the game but not one I recognized had any of their players with them nor did I recognize, of course not knowing all, any of the better state of Maryland high school players. Recruitment can and is often a two-way street and Maryland "talents" to me tend to steer toward the ego needing to be called first and by UMD first instead of going after where one wants to attend college over who has interest in playing for them. Sorry tube, I just see things a little different than just UMD fails to look local first. When Jordon Addison was in HS, nobody from UMD ever picked-up a phone to call him or bothered to visit him at school. He went on to become one of the top receivers in College football when he was at Pitt (and later USC). He's now playing for the Vikings. There's zero doubt in my mind that UMD sucks at recruiting local top talent. ...and also, when Addison was in HS I can tell you not one of our local PG county board geniuses had any idea who he was because he didn't play for Wise or QO or Flowers. LOL. As for Hunter Thompson, if you wanna see how he compares to a receiver already committed to Maryland, go back and watch the Oakdale / City College game from Friday. Then come back and tell us the kid Maryland made an offer to was the best receiver on the field. Again, they absolutely suck at landing local talent. The person at the UMD responsible for talking to Addisin didn't and got fired because of it.

Jordan Addison's FIRST scholarship offer was from UMD in 2018 I believe (or cite your source if I am wrong) when Addison was a rising junior and NOT after everyone else offered your FredCo favored son as also so wrongly stated. FOUR star Addison was NOT unknown nor NOT contacted / not recruited by UMD. I told you --- Jordan Addison made a choice; he was simply a Pitt guy and I believe made maybe three or so trips to Pitt. Connect the freaking dots Bubba or I'm sure others unlike you can see beyond the tips of their own nose with more relevant truthful information ---- The UMD OC / receiver coach at the time was Chris Beatty. That well traveled coach who had coached players like Percey Harvin, Noel Devin, and Tavon Austin, left UMD circa 2018/9 for Pitt. Is he the person YOU say was fired!!!! Is it possible Coach Beatty took the teen with him to Pitt - perhaps a key factor how Coach got the Pitt job? And then Coach stayed at Pitt about the same length of time as Addison and as I said, Addison was a Pitt guy but briefly until he became a USC guy but even more briefly before he jumped to the NFL as did Beatty. Did I mention Beatty was at Vanderbilt as OC when James Franklin now of Penn State formerly of UMD was head coach at Vandy.... Come On bubs....stop spouting crap you heard or just making up. Jordan Addison was not some unknown diamond outside of FredCo who UMD failed to notice and pursue. Hell, I and current UMD football personnel remember Addison in youth football and even when he was with 480 Club in MoCo. One of the UMD staff member's son played youth ball against Addison and high school ball but at a private school around the same time. At any rate, there is a hell of a lot of going ons in the high school to college football recruit world that would cause a sauage maker to gag. Now may I please please please go back to just lurk; at least be a pain to my main dawgs FaceD and numbs....

There was definitely a ton of drama surrounding Addison changing his commitment from UMD to Pitt. A few guys covered it on this board you just have to go 4-5 years in the past and look for it. It was also being covered on the Maryland Rivals forum if you have the premium membership over there. And I almost want to say the FNP and 24/7 touched on it a little bit.
Most of us Fredco guys care very little about Tuscarora ball and a lot of people didnât touch on addison to much as the team he was on was never great. We arenât dick riding anyone.
Iâm super confused on who Lurker thinks he is. Is he god? Is he Locksley? Lead writer for that MSM channel whoâs had to apologize about making a claim and getting it wrong?
Lurker I get that the PG side of the board doesnât get to active outside of you and numbers going back and forth. Up here where real football is being played we donât know you and donât care about any input you have. Especially when every bit of it is wrong.

Your lot reasserted its position and I re-responded with facts. Now your panties are all in a tight bunch over my response. Sorry snowflakes.....

You just ain't sayin' nothin'. The instant issue is Jordan Addison was an elite high school in-state talent who according to your ilk was not called, visited, recruited, and not offered by UMD until a lot of other colleges offered, thus this was a perfect example to you all of the ineptness of UMD in securing home talents. According to your numb knuts crew, the UMD person who should have recruited Addison was "fired" for not doing so. I challenged everything your misguided intentionally misinformed stooge asserted with facts and you and et. al. are now all butt hurt over the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth presented by yours truly..... Come On Fredo.....do better.
